CRCC to partner with Concordia University

Image of CRCC to partner with Concordia University On July 27, CRCC will be partnering with the Center for Public Policy at Concordia University in order to present "Governing California:A Symposium on Solutions for the 21st Century".

According to Keith Curry, current director of the Center for Public Policy at Concordia University, the event is intended to discuss the ways in which California is currently dysfunctional and pull together experts to identify solutions.

"I think we’re going to be surprised that people will have the same common set of problems even though they come from very diverse backgrounds and opinions”, he said.

Before becoming director at the center in 2011, Curry served as Council Member and Mayor of Newport Beach, CA, where he created the city’s 15-point Fiscal Sustainability Plan, which served as a blueprint for addressing the impacts of the economic slowdown on the city.

"Concordia has found a little niche to solving problems locally in the city," he said. "But we are a small university, which is why we are proud to be partnering with USC to bring the focus to the state-wide level to see if we can correct some of the issues plaguing the state of California."
