Murray Center's partnership with USC small business office featured
USC News recently featured the USC Small Business Diversity Office and its relationship to small businesses around the University Park, Health Sciences, Marina del Rey and Alhambra campuses.
The article also highlighted the small business office's partnership with the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement. Together, they held a session in November 2011, when 34 small business and community leaders were trained on "How to do Business with USC, led by Rhonda Thornton.
The session was followed by two financial Literacy presentations focused on Financial Compliance for economic growth, led by Robin Billups (US Bank) and Ronald Johnson (Bank of America). The Murray Center plans to do more sessions in the future with the small business office.
The Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement draws on the social, spiritual, and leadership capital of churches and the broader faith community to promote economic development and civic engagement in low-income neighborhoods. Specifically, the Center honors Rev. Cecil L “Chip” Murray’s three-decade-long legacy of working for the betterment of Los Angeles.
