Zeba Iqbal
Zeba Iqbal is the executive director of CAMP International (Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals). In her role as executive director, Zeba’s focus has been on refining CAMP’s vision and on strengthening CAMP as an organization. The core has been developing programming around professional development and networking to create stronger and more relevant professional networks.
These efforts have been supplemented by the creation of strategic partnerships locally and nationally between CAMP and aligned organizations. These strategic partnerships are the basis of CAMP’s social, community and interfaith service programming. Her goal has been and continues to be to engage, empower and elevate Muslim professionals, and to create space for relevant and meaningful dialog. Zeba has been with CAMP since 2005.
She was the Deputy Director of CAMP National between 2007 and 2009, and has been the Conference Manager of CAMP's 2008, 2009 and 2010 conferences. Zeba has an MBA from The George Washington University, and an undergraduate degree in architecture from Bangalore, India.
Professionally, she has 15 years experience in the real estate industry. She lives in New York City, and works for Princeton University as a program manager for their off-campus real estate development projects. Prior to joining Princeton, Zeba was a real estate advisor with Ernst & Young LLP in New York City.
Zeba is an active social and community networker and activist for the Muslim American community. In all her endeavors she seeks to promote and encourage positive, proactive and relevant thought and action. Zeba was a founding member of Muslims Against Terrorism/Muslim Voices for Peace, an organization founded in the aftermath of September 11th. More recently, she was on the advisory committees for Muslim Americans Answer the Call, Muslim-Americans response to President Obama regarding service and unity in the Summer of 2009; and the Muslim Voices: Arts and Ideas' Festival, a 10-day festival held in New York in June 2009. Zeba was also a key member of the PR team promoting the 20-show NYC staging of Wajahat Ali’s play, The Domestic Crusaders which opened on September 11, 2009.
