Transnational Charisma and Traveling Spirits: A seminar to explore how religion moves across a global landscape.

Paper Proposals

Graduate students who present a paper in the spring semester may receive $1,000 for conference travel and graduate credit. Paper proposals should be sent to Janet Hoskins jhoskins@usc.edu and Macarena Gomez-Barris gomezbar@usc.edu.

Seminar Dates

The next seminar, Asian Religions in a Transnational Perspective will take place on November 10, 2009. The seminar includes papers by Janet Hoskins, “Spirits You See in the Mirror: Possession Rituals in Orange County and Vietnam," and Jane Iwamura, “Virtual Buddhas and Asian Religions in Mass Media”
