CRCC Advanced Doctoral Research Award
Advanced graduate students at the University of Southern California are eligible to apply for the annual CRCC Advanced Doctoral Research Award. The Center for Religion and Civic Culture will offer one award of up to $5,000 to the winning proposal. Funds may be used in the form of a stipend, or for any legitimate research purpose, including data collection and analysis, research-related travel, equipment clearly justified by the research project, web design or multimedia support, or for expenses related to graduate student-organized research workshops or scholarly conferences.
Recipients of the award must give a CRCC-sponsored public presentation of their research during the award year.
ELIGIBILITY
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at USC
- Must have passed qualifying exams and advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D. by January 1, 2010
TO APPLY, please submit the following materials by November 13, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
- CV of no more than two pages
- Narrative research proposal of no more than three double-spaced pages describing your project and how it relates to, or advances the study of, religion. The proposal should also include a statement of project goals and proposed outcomes
- One page budget indicating how and when funds will be used
- One letter of support from a faculty advisor

Proposals for the research awards will be reviewed by CRCC's Academic Advisory Council. Award funds will be granted in January 2010 and must be spent by Nov. 30, 2010.
