Sister Jeanette Kong shares how she went from a “jaded and disillusioned young person” to a Verbum Dei Missionary in this video:
Fewer young women in the United States are deciding to become Catholic sisters and nuns today. However, Sister Jeanette’s story is like that of many younger sisters today who have chosen this way of life. Often, like-minded Catholic peers and mentors guide and accompany young women as they deepen their commitment to the faith of their upbringing and discern a vocation of religious life.
As a Verbum Dei sister, Sister Jeanette now works with as a campus minister at UCLA. In this position, she helps young people encounter a personal God, just as she did on her journey of discernment.
