Kim Lawton is a reporter, producer and speaker who has worked in broadcast, print and online media. For nearly 20 years, she was Managing Editor and Correspondent for the highly-acclaimed national public television program Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly where she oversaw news coverage and appeared as a regular on-air correspondent. She reported and produced long-format stories, conducted in-studio interviews and provided exclusive content for the program’s website and social media platforms. (“Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly” ended in March 2017, but its website is still accessible at www.pbs.org/religion.) Lawton now runs Kim Lawton Media LLC, an independent production company that develops videos and documentary films and offers media consulting. Lawton is a frequent commentator on issues surrounding religion, culture and spirituality. She has received many awards for her work. In 2015, she was selected to be a fellow with the East-West Center’s Senior Journalist Seminar, during which she spent three weeks traveling around the globe studying US relations with the Muslim world. Over the course of her career, she has worked on assignment in nearly 30 countries.
