The Interdisciplinary Research Group of the USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture will offer research stipends of $3,000 to USC faculty and advanced doctoral students for summer 2017.
Nine stipends of $3000 each will be awarded for research projects related to the interdisciplinary study of religions.
Applicants must be faculty (TT or RTP), postdoctoral fellows or advanced doctoral students (ABD) at Dornsife College or affiliated with CRCC. Applicants from all disciplines and departments are encouraged to apply.
Funding may be used for travel to archives or other research sites; acquisition of research materials; hiring research assistants; support while researching locally; or support while writing research results. Funding may not be used for programming, pedagogical or non-academic projects, or equipment. Funds must be used between June 1 and August 31, 2017.
Applications must include:
- A project description no longer than 500 words describing precisely the research to be carried out in the grants period, the project’s importance and projected research outcomes.
- A budget. (Applications for support while writing do not require a budget.)
- A curriculum vitae of no more than 2 pages.
