Michael Spezio discusses the effects of centering prayer and contemplative reflection on neural networks. Dr. Spezio is an assistant professor of psychology at Scripps College.
Spezio appeared at USC on October 25, 2006 to speak about “Mindfulness in the Brain: A Study of Contemplative Practice in Relation to Neural Networks of Social Judgment and Meta-Awareness” as part of the USC Templeton Lecture Series.
Previously he was a postdoctoral scholar in social and affective neuroscience in the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences and at the Brain Imaging Center at the California Institute of Technology.
