Richard Flory, CRCC director of research, was quoted in an LA Weekly article about Blake Mycoskie of TOMS shoes and his suspected involvement with Focus on the Family and other controversial groups.
Mycoskie, who has come underfire since he spoke as a headliner at a Focus on the Family event in Orange County, wrote on his blog that “known the full extent of Focus on the Family’s beliefs, I would not have accepted the invitation to speak.”
Flory told LA Weekly that he doubts Mycoskie was in the dark.
“I find it really hard to believe that anyone who’s as aware as he is, who starts a company like that, doesn’t know what Focus on the Family is about,” Flory told LA Weekly. “It’s highly improbable.”
