Rev. Mark Whitlock, executive director of the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement, was listed on The Orange County Register’s “Top 100 most influential of 2014” list.
The story about Whitlock shared these reasons he is an influencer:
Whitlock gained recognition in 2014, when he led the facility purchased by Christ the Redeemer in Irvine to accommodate its 3,000-member congregation. Whitlock takes pride in leading a church that is ethnically diverse, and his dream is to tear down racial barriers. “I remind people that heaven is fully integrated. Our goal is to create that type of integrated church, to help people see the similarities rather than the differences.”
