Gloria Zuuerveen, editor-in-chief of Pace News, dedicated the entire front page to the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement’s Faith Leaders Institute. Here’s an excerpt from the piece:
Rev. Mark Whitlock, executive director of the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement, along with the Rev. Dr. Cecil “Chip” Murray, whom the center is named after, were inspirational in their delivery of the message about civic engagement.
They showed so much passion for the work they have been called to do for the sake of saving communities.
Rev. Murray gave an overview of “The 5 M’s of Leadership” which are: Mission, Membership, Money, Maintenance, and Moral.
Members in the class were clinging to his every word to learn all they could from the expert in civic engagement. He said, “Find out how to reach the community you are in.”
