AMCLI Online Workshops

American Muslim communities face unprecedented challenges during this pandemic, which has heightened and further exposed issues of racial justice and equity.

Leadership is more critical than ever. Therefore, AMCLI is launching a series of online workshops to help U.S. Muslims interested in community engagement strengthen their skills as they strive to lead during this crisis.

Register today for the workshops

Who: These programs are open to past AMCLI fellows as well as US Muslims interested in community engagement who have not previously attended an AMCLI program (professionals, volunteers, board members, business leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, educators/religious scholars, imams, etc.)

AMCLI believes that leaders who are rooted in their values, clear about their purpose, and able to articulate their vision can inspire others as they pursue collective action. The online AMCLI workshops will support American Muslims as they step up in their leadership roles, even as they work remotely. The workshops are built upon the core pillars of AMCLI’s approach.

We will be adding additional workshops in the weeks and months ahead.

Dealing with Difficult Conversations

Conflict can result from many issues. Often it is considered a negative, to be avoided at all costs. That is not a sustainable posture, especially because if effectively managed, conflict can be productive. With a clear understanding of the issues and the personalities involved, leaders can approach conflict with less fear and with the resolve to engage quickly and effectively, whether in-person or remotely. This workshop will teach participants to diagnose conflict before it intensifies, apply appropriate conflict resolution techniques to specific situations, and remain calm under fire. Brie Loskota (USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture) will help participants recognize their own triggers, identify ways to address them confidently and analyze methods for resolving conflict that enhance rather than erode valuable relationships.
